Read a great review of the band in the Charleston City Paper at the following link! Blue Plantation Band a Decade of Bluegrass

Blue Plantation is an acoustic string band with a diverse variety of authentic musical styles. These styles include Bluegrass, Irish, Folk, Country, Swing, and Jazz. They have created their own niche market and specialize in Wedding Ceremonies, Dinner Rehearsals, Oyster Roasts, Pig Pickins, Corporate Events, Festivals, Private Parties, Family Functions, and Local Music Venues.

The band is made up of four musicians with a wide background of musical experience and a high level of expertise. The band is hard-working and has been performing together for 15 years in the Charleston, SC area.

Charleston, South Carolina is a modern day cultural melting pot, which leaves Blue Plantation with the opportunity to serve up the musical main course for Charlestonians and tourists alike.

About the Band:
There's always four of us, but you might not see the same bassist with us every night. We are very lucky to have access to the finest bassists in Charleston, and we take full advantage!

Allan brings a commercial edge to the band from his vast experience on the road with major country artists and the stage of the Grand Ole Opry as a sideman.

Some of Aaron's major influences include Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, David Grier, Bryan Sutton, David Grisman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Hendrix, Brent Mason, Mike Dowling, Tony Rice, Clarence White, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Eric Johnson, and Russ Barenberg. David Vaughan - Mandolin, Vocals

David is originally from Greenwood, South Carolina and currently resides on Johns Island. He is a graduate of The Citadel class of 2000, and he brings to the table a rich tenor voice combined with a wonderful rhythmic style of his own on the mandolin. David has played with many local bands over the past decade and has learned a great deal about Charleston's music scene. He is influenced by many great musicians of all music styles from rock to jazz, but mostly by virtuoso mandolinist David Grisman, and therefore brings forth the element of "Dawg" music.

David currently works for the City of Charleston.
